Welcome to The Feminist Kitchen!

I’m Addie Broyles, and I’ve been a food writer, blogger, podcaster and mom for more than a decade.

In 2008, I started a food column for the Austin American-Statesman called Relish Austin, where I wrote about farmers markets, food trends and cooking.

In 2010, I started a blog called The Feminist Kitchen, where I wrote about love and loss, old quilts, traveling with my kids and birthday cake.

In 2021, I left the newspaper and combined those efforts into a weekly newsletter on Substack. I’m now a full-time freelancer, consultant and tarot card practioner, and writing for Substack has been a wonderful change of pace from my life at the daily newspaper.

By supporting The Feminist Kitchen with a paid subscription, you’ll get fresh essays, columns and stories from me each week, delivered straight to your inbox.

I hope you’ll give this newsletter a try! If you’ve enjoyed reading my columns in the newspaper over the years, you’ll be happy to know that I’m still writing those stories, just in a new format.

Thanks for stopping by!
