So lovely when we have such great role models for how relationships can thrive and grow into life long commitments of joy! Thanks for sharing this beautiful story of your parents love for one another. I'm also so excited to bear witness to the story that you and Franks are starting . <3

Very fun to hear someone else’s marriage story though different than mine… we’ve only 49 years so far though we’re close to your parents’ age! Still, my parents visible love for each other lasted almost 69 years though the last 4 of Dad’s life, Mom’s dementia made his long lasting love light gradually burn out. Very sad to see that after such a vivid love affair… still her last 4 years alone we four children shared her increasingly childlike sweetness and care. In a way we’re grateful that Daddy, dying at 90, didn’t have to live more than his 69 years of complete faithfulness to her well being. He hung in there with her but the love light was dimming … I hate the dementia that’s like a plague in too many mature peoples lives!
